At approx 5:45 pm, an SDPD officer saw a dark-colored van with 4 occupants run a “STOP” sign on Beyer Blvd, in Otay Mesa. He attempted to pull the van over and the male driver took off. In the pursuit through San Ysidro, the Van clipped a white car on Sunset Lane but kept going. The Van then stopped in the drive way of an apartment complex on Averil Rd, where the driver and a female jumped out of the van and ran away. Two other females (a 19-year-old and her 16-year-old sister) stayed at the scene. Police continued on a foot pursuit, and eventually caught the male on West San Ysidro Blvd. He apparently swallowed something and began to vomit on the street. Paramedics checked him out, but he was too zoned out. he was taken to Scripps Chula Vista. The female that ran away, was not captured.
