The homeowner came to his property to check on it at approx 10;20 a.m. at 930 Cuyamaca Ave., as it is for sale with the “For Sale” in the front yard. When he entered the home.\he realized the air conditioning was on and it should not have been. He also saw doors that were closed that were always left open. Upon further investigation, he heard the shower was running. The owner and and his female companion got out of the house and called the Police.
The Police discovered a man in the shower and arrested him. The suspect said he had been there 3 previous times to shower and for shelter. Police found burglary tools, a meth pipe and beer with the suspect’s belongings. He had forced opened a screen to get into the residence. The suspect was arrested on burglary, possession of burglary tools, and possession of the meth pipe. The suspect was already on probation for other crimes.
The Police found other items in the house that did not belong to the suspect or the property owner suggesting others had used the house. The house is currently in escrow and the Police suggested that the owner take down the “For Sale”, as this is a magnet for criminals to break in.
