At approx 2:30 pm, Police was called to SDG&E Park near Hilltop Drive and Orange Ave. An elderly Black man was sleeping in the park under a tree, when a Hispanic Man ran up, started kicking the man and yelling “Otay Boys” and Racist Slurs. The suspect stopped attacking the man when a male witness started to run to the victim’s aid and yelling at the suspect. The victim was robbed of a cell phone and approx $100.00 according to the Police. The victim was checked out by CVFD personnel and paramedics and suggested he go to a hospital, but the victim just wanted to go home.
